[The difference between the expected criticism by LATime and the reaction from universities]（日本語は後半）
A review of "Behind the Cove" appeared in the Los Angeles Times. Although it harsh criticism.
What is intriguing to me is the difference in reaction by such reviews and by many educators at universities.
There seems to be a gap in what viewers of my film put importance on; "visual technique and style even if the content is full of lies", or "focusing on documented materials and historical facts despite rough editing"?
What is required of "documentary films"?
I sent out invitations to the screenings of my film to the leaders of the anti-whaling groups, but they have all declined. Maybe they do not want to listen to the opinion of others, but rather focus on only what they want the world to believe.

【予想通りのLATimeの酷評と大学機関の反応の違い】
酷評ではありますが、ロサンゼルスタイムズに「ビハインド・ザ・コーヴ」のレビューが載りました。
不思議なのが大学機関の多くの先生方との反応の違いです。
「嘘でも映像としてテクニック性」なのか、「資料や史実にフォーカスするか」の違いでしょうか。
「ドキュメンタリー映画」に求められているのは、何なのか。
私の映画の招待状を反捕鯨団体の幹部に出しましたが、全て理由をつけて断られました。彼らは自分達の一方的な意見だけは流しますが他の意見に耳を傾けたくないのでしょう。
